Thanks for stopping by to read about sponsoring my book- I appreciate you more than words can express. Hi! I'm Nadine, and I'm writing a book series called Charm Hawaii. It's a survivor's story disguised as a fast-paced cat-and-mouse-style murder mystery.

Charm Hawaii is a five-part series that starts with the introduction of Lucy, the central character who carries and tells my story for me. Every book introduces new bad guys who teach us different lessons. Mistakes are life's greatest teachers- learn from mine so you can protect yourself, your family, and loved ones from becoming a victim of some kind. It can happen to anybody, and it does. The only thing that would have kept me on the path I planned for myself would have been a fair and victim-centered justice system reinforced with strong education and protection. If you read other survivors' stories, you'd find that to be true for all of us.
Did you know that at least half of Americans will be victim of a violent crime at least twice in their lives? And half of American murders go unsolved? And if you identify as anyone other than a straight-passing, white-passing, cis-male-passing person, with bonus points if you are wealthy-passing, you are statistically on the bad side of those stats?
I found myself trapped in a cycle of abuse starting way back when I was a teen, which you'll read about in book 2, McNDA. What if hush money is forced consent after the fact? It's not about the money for victims, although too many people believe it is. Why is that? Let's talk about it. In book 2, we'll go back in time to Lucy's teen life leading up to how she met Tommy, the main antagonist of the series.
You'll meet Tommy, aka "Pappy Pirate," in the first book, Pineapple Pirates of the Caribbean. How did a convict with a rap sheet taller than you steal a custom luxury yacht and get away with it? You'll find out in the fictionalized tale soon. Till then, let's talk about it. In book 1, we start slightly in the future in an alternate universe where maga is no more. You'll meet Lucy, her world, and the people and places in it. You'll also meet the man who will forever be a pebble in her shoe, no matter how far she runs.
Stay tuned for when and where you meet more bad guys in books 3, 4 & 5.

Check out this post for a list of villains, their nicknames, and who they are inspired by.
My goal is to write my series with grace, dignity, and transparency with you, future readers, along for the ride. I'll answer your questions later- I'm sure you have a ton, like why now? I'll be starting the accompanying podcast soon. Stay tuned.
I've been working on this project for almost five years now, self-funding slowly while learning, writing, designing, building the site, and everything with it. I'm finally ready to write the final first draft of my books. I got bills, as we all do, and I can't do this alone anymore. Your support would allow me to take care of my family responsibilities and dedicate the rest of the time to writing the book, starting the podcast (drafts, discussions, behind the scense, character and setting introductions and more) and growing the boutique (which "belongs" to Lucy. The online boutique is the real life extension of the fictional book)

My vision is for Charm Book & Boutique to create jobs, stability, income, and security for myself and those who join the team. I want the majority of the profits to go right back into my community and beyond, starting with vulnerable youth in Hawaii, and never ending but constantly expanding to micro, macro, local, national, or international charities and nonprofits that do the real work we as a society depend on. It's up to us to work around the oppression happening today. Idk what the answer is, but I know what we got going now is oppression rooted in systemic racism, misogyny, and xenophobia. That's a discussion for another day.
What do Sponsors/Patrons get?
You will all get a kindle or ebook copy of Pineapple Pirates of the Caribbean upon release. I will email you a redemption code in the future. Please add book@charmhawaii.com to your address book to prevent it from being flagged as spam.
When you purchase your sponsorship, you will get a welcome email with a personalized code for 10% your next purchase in Charm Hawaii Boutique (patron packages excluded). Use it or forward it, live ya life. A percentage of your purchase will be donated to RYSE Hawaii. My goal is to raise $10,000 for them by the end of the month. Will you help me by sharing this post or a Substack link? You can earn free paid subscription months with just a few referrals over at charmhawaii.substack.com.
"Purple Patron Packages" also come with a soft, premium, limited-edition t-shirt that will have a sewn tag indicating #/100. You get the number you get, it's blind packed and shipped. After one hundred t-shirts of a design are made, that is it. The design is a mystery and exclusive, but it remains the same for each batch of 100. Tag @charmhawaii and #charmhawaii when you unbox it. Will you be first? Don't like surprises, wait for the tags to pop on socials and snag yours before they sell out.
The image in the description you'll add to your cart if you choose this sponsorship is not the t-shirt you will get. That one is available in the boutique; it is not numbered, limited, or special like the one that comes with the Purple Patron Package. All sales are final on the numbered limited edition t-shirts. It will last a long time. Please take care of it and wear it with pride and a smile, knowing your impact matters. Follow along to see exactly where a large portion of your sponsorship goes.
Finally, there's the Pink Patron Package, which is the most impactful and generous sponsorship. It comes with a numbered, limited-edition hoodie instead of a T-shirt. You'll also get a notebook from the "chuck it in the duckit bucket" line of Charm Hawaii Book & Boutique. It's a nice-sized bullet-journal-style notebook that you can fill with whatever ya need. A larger portion of your sponsorship will go to donations, making you a significant contributor to our cause.
You don't have to do anything further after you purchase your package other than keep your eyes out for your ebook code. If your package includes a garment, you'll get it within 3 to 4 weeks, or possibly sooner. Batches of 100 will be made and numbered after 10 sponsorships are purchased. Your t-shirt or hoodie will be sent to you from either Philly or Cali, whichever is closer. If you are expecting a notebook, it will arrive sooner and will be made and shipped from the facility closest to you, anywhere in the world, as quickly as possible after you finalize your order. Your patience is much appreciated.
The pink patron package also includes a signed copy of book 1, Pineapple Pirates of the Caribbean. You'll get that in the mail when you do. I will be as efficient, quick, and environmentally mindful as possible. I appreciate your patience and support.
Please check out charmhawaii.substack.com and subscribe for free to see the list of 20 villain nicknames, inspirations, connections, and descriptions, along with more detailed insights available to Substack subscribers only.
You'll get the same broad strokes free subscriptions receive here in the sponsors only section. You'll also get to vote on details, have discussions on sponsor-only topics, win gifts from Hawaii, as well as Charm Hawaii Boutique.
Thank you! I hope you have a beautiful day!
